The authorities are aimed at completely ousting the Majlis from Crimean politics, - Jelal
Simferopol, July 24 (Navigator, Evgeny Andreev) - The current situation of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars is “solely the consequences of the attitude of the authorities towards the Crimean Tatars in general and towards the representative body of the Crimean Tatars in particular.”

Deputy Chairman of the Majlis Nariman Jelal stated this in a commentary to QHA news agency.
“This is an attitude that was expressed in preventing the leaders of the Crimean Tatar people from returning to their homeland, and in the situation with the holding of May 18 and June 26, and with the appointment of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people to power, and today the way they are trying to agitate the Crimean Tatars to participation in elections. Smart people will immediately understand how they feel about the Crimean Tatars and the Majlis. I think only a completely stupid person could not understand that today the task is to oust the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people from active social and political life in Crimea,” the politician noted.
He made it clear that for this purpose the authorities are again actively using the Crimean Tatar opposition:
“Similar attempts were made earlier (in the first years of the reign of Viktor Yanukovych - Navigator). And the fact that some believe that today they are on the “crest of a wave”, it is no secret to anyone how they did it and how much it was necessary to “kiss different parts of the body” for this. I think they themselves know this,” Jelal emphasized.
He denied allegations about the inability of the Majlis to organize public protest in connection with the ban on entry into Crimea for the leader of the Majlis, Refat Chubarov.
“Some public organizations cannot gather for events the number of people who simply went to meet Mustafa Dzhemilev on May 3. When they gather such people and gather those who are ready, despite the shooting, to meet with their leader, then let them talk about ratings. As for Refat Chubarov, a fundamental decision was made here - Refat Agha himself insisted on this - not to hold serious mass public events for the time being, so as not to give the Crimean authorities the opportunity to carry out punitive actions against participants in such actions,” explained the deputy chairman Majlis.
