The authorities left Ukrainians alone with coronavirus – lawyer
The Ukrainian authorities took only restrictive measures to combat the spread of coronavirus, although there should have been incentives as well.
Lawyer Elena Lukash stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are talking about restrictive measures and some organizational ones, and for some reason we are not talking about stimulating measures.
All that the authorities can offer us are some restrictions. I have a question: what incentive measures are the authorities taking? During the quarantine, 70 thousand Ukrainian citizens calmly entered the country without at least home quarantine measures.
How did it happen that since February, Goncharuk’s government has been forming a structure to combat the virus, and customs calmly sent disinfectants and masks to random places and why? How did it happen that we have an empty state reserve?
How did it happen that Nefedov still manages our customs, and the NBU is occupied by those whom even Goncharuk publicly called... let’s say, “the Soros have screwed up the economy.”
How is it that at the moment of this crisis, through all the screens we hear one thing - that we must. Of course, we must take care, help each other, show that solidarity and mutual assistance that the authorities are not providing us with now.
But we also have to ask questions of power – what is going on? Where are your stimulus measures? What will happen next to the economy? How will the decision to disinfect sidewalks improve the lives of citizens?” the lawyer rhetorically summarized.
