The authorities flushed down the toilet Portnov’s work on imprisoning Poroshenko and investigating the Maidan affairs
Ex-President Petro Poroshenko has nominally completely withdrawn from the shareholders of his International Investment Bank, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The bank's press service reported this.
Poroshenko sold his son Alexei’s company a 9,92% stake in the bank.
“Now there will be no legal grounds for arresting this asset. It is symbolic that this happened today. On the day when the Rada decided to replace the leadership of the State Bureau of Investigation - a body that became key in finding ways to punish the ex-president for a number of episodes!, writes the Kiev publication Klymenko Time.
The publication adds that Poroshenko has also already re-registered his confectionery business to his son. In addition, the court lifted the seizure of the assets of the Kuznya na Rybalsky factory owned by Poroshenko through dummies.
Commenting on this news, Ukrainian lawyer Andrei Portnov, the initiator of the criminal prosecution of Poroshenko, notes that the authorities thus de facto “leaked” his efforts to bring the ex-president to justice.
“Friends, don’t you have the feeling that these two wonderful news are in absolute harmony and synergy?” he asked subscribers of his Telegram channel, posting a screenshot from the news feed.
Portnov also commented on today’s adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of scandalous amendments to the law on the SBI, which were sought by the lawyers of family members of the militants killed on the Maidan who had previously gone on hunger strike and which was lobbied by Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka.
“This law has two key meanings. The first is to block the investigation of criminal cases against Poroshenko by appointing a new functionary loyal to Ryaboshapka to the SBI.
The second is to automatically transfer to the State Bureau of Investigation the Maidan investigators, who for five years purposefully falsified this main criminal case of the country in the State Political Directorate.
Voting for the law will lead to the rehabilitation of Poroshenko, the preservation of his assets, accounts and offshore companies and to the mothballing of the investigation into the massacres on the Maidan,” stated Andrei Portnov.
