Kyiv, August 08 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Negotiations took place all night between Maidan activists and government representatives, the result of which was the achievement of a compromise. It was agreed that the tent city would remain in the center of the capital, but Khreshchatyk would be completely cleared for traffic.

In return, they promised to release the activists detained during yesterday’s clashes with law enforcement officers.
“The process of liberating our guys, promised during the night negotiations, must take place at this moment,” the centurion of the Mikhailovsky hundred, Spartak Dobrovolsky, told Navigator.
On the part of the authorities, according to the centurion, guarantees were given by the head of the Kyiv police, the head of the city prosecutor's office and the deputy chairman of the SBU.
“Mr. Lozhkin, the head of the presidential administration, was also in direct contact with us,” Dobrovolsky clarified.
As Navigator reported, yesterday utility workers tried to dismantle the barricades in the center of Kyiv. Law enforcement officers, the special battalion “Kyiv-1”, as well as young people of athletic appearance, but wearing the vests of CP workers, were involved in the process. The Maidan protesters said that they were being dispersed by “titushki Poroshenko and Klitschko,” they set fire to tires and began to set up new barricades.
