The authorities banned not the mourning, but the anti-Russian rally on May 18, - Crimean political scientist
Simferopol, May 16 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – By banning the Majlis rally on May 18, the authorities made the right decision, disrupting the anti-Russian performance for Ukraine and the West.

Crimean political scientist Alexander Formanchuk told Navigator about this.
“In principle, this decision is correct, because the rally on the 18th would not be mourning, but purely political in terms of protest content against Russia. Naturally, in this situation, various kinds of provocations would be quite expected. The risks were great from the point of view of not only the fact that the content of the picture would be known to the whole world. This, in principle, is a staged action for the European community, for Ukraine,” the expert noted.
According to him, it is clear that there will be a negative reaction from supporters of the Majlis, but “it will be such that no one will see it.”
“At the same time, all planned official events will be held - there will be a funeral meeting in the Ukrainian Theater and local authorities will grant the right to hold official events. I think that, despite the ban, there will be individual attempts to hold rallies, but those who do this must understand that there is a decree of the head of the republic. This would be a violation of the law, and in this case the authorities have grounds to take appropriate measures,” emphasized Alexander Formanchuk.
