DPR authorities have denied reports of a grain crisis - there will be no price rise
The information disseminated yesterday in the media about the impending food crisis in the Donetsk People's Republic does not correspond to reality.
This statement was made today during a meeting with the heads of agro-industrial enterprises by the Minister of Revenue and Duties of the DPR, Alexander Timofeev, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Yesterday, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy said that we will not have enough food grains. Question for the ministry: on what basis did you make such a statement, and why did you predict a 30 percent increase in food prices, if the already collected grain is enough to prevent a food crisis?” – Alexander Timofeev asked a question to the representative of the ministry.
He added that, despite certain difficulties, there is enough grain collected in the Republic to prevent food prices from rising.
“Based on the results of the meeting, we can say that there is indeed less grain collected this year than last year, but there are objective reasons for this. This does not lead to an increase in the price of finished products. The volume of grain collected in the Republic is guaranteed to be sufficient for the needs of the DPR. I consider it unacceptable for the executive branch to give incorrect information and agitate the population for no reason. I can say that the information provided by the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, to put it mildly, is untrue,” Timofeev said in conclusion.
