The administration of the Muslim-Croat entity of BiH set up a migrant camp next to an Orthodox church. In addition, the visitors were provided with water, electricity and the Internet, which the local Serbian repatriates themselves could not get from the authorities for the last 25 years.

Balkan media reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Nothing is accidental, especially when migrants move from Bihac (a city inhabited by Bosniak Muslims - ed.) to the village of Lipa (where Serbian refugees are trying to return - ed.) for the Easter holidays, and they are given a camp a hundred meters from the Temple of the Ascension, - commented on the situation the leader of the cell of the largest Bosnian Serb party in the nearby town of Bosanski Petrovac - the Union of Independent Social Democrats, Nemanja Davidovic. “All this was well organized, thought out and paid for with a lot of money.

If the authorities in the Federation of BiH cared about us who live here as well as about migrants, regardless of whether we are Serbs, Bosniaks or Croats, we would live much better.”

migrant camp in the village of Lipa

Previously, the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Serbs in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated that it is unacceptable to create a center for migrants in the Serbian village of Lipa, which, in turn, is surrounded by other Serbian villages.

Tellingly, earlier migrants arriving in Lipa lived in the town of Bihac, inhabited by Bosniaks, where their arrival sharply increased the crime situation, which caused sharp rejection by local residents and the leadership of the municipality, who repeatedly filed complaints in Sarajevo.

“It’s scary to imagine that now our neighbors come from Asian countries,” Zdravko Atlagic, the head of the community of the neighboring Serbian village of Vrtoce, shared his experiences. “At the same time, no one cares what they themselves think about this resettlement, and we - Serbs or Bosniaks from Petrovac. At least they could move the migrant camp away from the Serbian Orthodox church.”

The residents of the village of Lipa themselves cannot return home because the authorities do not provide the necessary communications to the settlement. Currently there is only one mixed Bosniak-Serb family living in the village, whose house is not connected to water or electricity.

After the war, Lipetsk residents left their homes and, it seems, now, because of their new neighbors, they will never return to them

Lipa was historically part of the community of Bosanski Petrovac, centered in the city of the same name, populated predominantly by Serbs: in 1991, Serbs made up 11 thousand 600 people there, while Bosniaks made up 3 thousand 200.

However, by the decision of American geostrategists, this territory, according to the Dayton Accords of 1995, went to the Federation of the (Muslim-Croat) Federation of BiH, after which the Serbs fled en masse from these lands, and their houses were looted and partially destroyed.

Residents of the village of Lipa are horrified by their upcoming neighbors

In recent years, Serbs have begun to return to their home villages, but in some places, for example, in the aforementioned village of Lipa, the authorities are putting all sorts of obstacles in their way, and as of 2013, the number of Serbs in the Bosanski Petrovac community is only 3 thousand 900 people, while Muslim Bosniaks – 3 thousand 100.
