“As of 06:00 on April 29, the fire front is surrounded and stopped. The situation is under control. Firefighting continues,” the statement said.
The overall coordination of actions to extinguish the forest fire is carried out by the acting head of the State Emergency Service Zoryan Shkiryak.
“There are practically no sources of open mounted fire left. There are occasional transfers to small parts of young trees, but they are not significant and are associated with gusts of wind. In addition, grass and burnt trees continue to smolder over a large area. Our firefighting aircraft have been working since the morning and extinguishing the remnants of the fire. The radiation background is normal, there are no threats,” – Shkiryak assures on his Facebook page.
