The city authorities in Donbass demolished the monument to Chapaev; in its place there will be a monument to the “Heroes of the ATO”
In Volnovakha, in Kiev-controlled territory of the Donetsk region, authorities dismantled the monument to Chapaev, previously renamed the “Kozak” monument.

The acting head of the Volnovakha administration, Alexander Ivanchenko, noted that the demolition of the monument to Chapaev was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the law on decommunization.
“An order was issued by the chairman of the regional military-civil administration, this order was communicated to the balance holder, who demolished the monument,” he emphasized.
On the site of the demolished Chapaev, a memorial will be created in memory of the “ATO heroes” who died in combat in the Donbass. The authorities announced a competition for the design of the corresponding monument.
