I just held a council of defense of the city of Kyiv. Based on the results of the meeting, I can note that all measures to ensure defense capability and maintain law and order in the capital are being implemented in full.
As for the secret part of the meeting, I cannot provide comments. At the same time, I would like to inform you on issues related to security measures for Kiev residents.
Firstly, the relevant services have been instructed to complete anti-terrorism work at strategic sites and those that ensure the life of the city of Kyiv. In particular, those enterprises that may pose an increased level of man-made threats.
Secondly, bringing all bomb shelters without exception to proper condition is actively underway. In particular, an audit of both parking lots and the metro is underway to attract them.
We continue to work to inform citizens about their actions in the event of an emergency, in particular, about the shelters closest to them (air-raid shelters, underground parking lots, subway tunnels).
Thirdly, I personally constantly monitor the functioning of emergency medical services in the city of Kyiv.
Separately, I would like to note that we have begun systematic work to ensure the unhindered passage of passengers at transport hubs, near metro stations, public transport stops, in underground passages, etc.
A person’s actions in an emergency situation are not always adequate, since he may not have information on exactly how to act. Therefore, I appeal to all heads of enterprises and organizations (regardless of their form of ownership) to carry out additional explanatory work. Act responsibly and harmoniously!” – Bondarenko wrote on Facebook.
