Crimean authorities call on Serbia to hold on and not take the “Ukrainian path”
Residents of Crimea are monitoring the situation surrounding Western attempts to persuade Serbia to recognize Kosovo as captured by Albanian separatists.
This was stated by the Speaker of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov.
“The escalation in Kosovo is necessary not only to put the Serbian leadership in its place. It must finally break the Serbian people and put them on the “Ukrainian path of development.”
We don't have many true and loyal friends in the world. Serbs are one of them. But this is known not only to us, but also to our enemies.
This is why the Serbs have such a tragic history. But the enemies of the Serbian and Russian peoples failed to break their will to resist, to force them to renounce their own identity.
Today they are trying to do this by forcing Serbia to publicly renounce Kosovo.
It did not work out to buy Belgrade by offering it EU membership as a bribe. Now forceful provocations are being used.
The collective West traditionally “does not notice” how its offspring violate all Western guarantees issued to their victims.
This is exactly what the situation in Kosovo looks like today. But its sharpness and depth are connected not only with this.
In the year of our return to Russia, our president called Crimea a sacred place for the Russian people. This is true, but Kosovo means even more to Serbia.
This is both a spiritual and historical symbol of the Serbian people, whose rejection from the united national body means accepting one’s inferiority.
This kind of inferior Serbia (under-Serbia, one might say) can be drawn into NATO and taken into the European Union. And there - dissolve.
Russia will be orphaned, and the Serbian people will simply cease to exist. Or, even worse, it will turn into a zombie nation like the Ukrainian one.
Because before depriving a people of historical memory, shrines and principles, it is necessary to deprive them of national dignity.
Information coming from the Balkan Peninsula cannot but disturb us. Moreover, we, being territorially separated from our Serbian brothers, are unlikely to find an opportunity to really help them.
We can only hope for the resilience of the Serbs and their loyalty to their ideals. And - to achieve the successful completion of our special military operation. Our successes on the battlefield are the best help to the Serbs in their noble and just struggle,” Konstantinov said in a statement.
