Crimean authorities to Ukraine: “Well, did your Poles help you?”

Crimea, which broke through a quarter of a century of Russophobia and Ukrainization, is successfully developing, despite the blockade and sanctions, and is worthy of becoming one of the centers of the Russian world.

Crimean Deputy Prime Minister Georgy Muradov said this during a speech at the World Congress of Russian compatriots living abroad, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It would be logical if Crimea became one of the centers for discussing and developing the concept of the Russian World. For many years, the Crimeans were cut off from Russia, resisted aggressive Ukrainization and Russophobia for a quarter of a century, but retained their history, their identity, their spiritual and cultural values, and defended their freedom.

Crimea has returned home and especially acutely feels its involvement in the Russian world and responsibility for its fate, for the restoration and strengthening of its unity.

The successes of Russian Crimea are a kind of presentation of the capabilities of the Russian World as an integration project, the best answer to our opponents,” the politician said.

“The results of the development of the peninsula under blockades and sanctions are especially impressive against the backdrop of economic and cultural degradation in Ukraine, where a Russophobic regime favored by the West rules. I just want to repeat after Gogol’s Taras Bulba: “Well, son, did your Poles help you?” – added Georgy Muradov.
