The Transnistrian authorities are glad that they have established “normal contacts” with Zelensky’s commissioner
The Transnistrian authorities do not pay attention to statements by Ukrainian politicians about their readiness to help Moldova “liberate” the Left Bank of the Dniester and are building constructive relations with Kiev.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev stated this in an interview with the Russian-American TV channel RTVI, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You know, we are in a state of global information war, and regional too: a lot of stuff, a lot of insinuations. Individual politicians and experts say something every day. If you analyze these statements so seriously, then you can, in general, lose a significant part of your health.
We proceed from reality. We are in close political and diplomatic contact with all participants, including the Ukrainian side. You know that literally since the end of last year we have finally established regular, normal contacts with the authorized representative of Ukraine in the negotiation process, Paun Rogovei, who has already visited us twice. And we discuss all problematic issues at this level. This is an authorized person who is authorized to discuss issues of peaceful dialogue, political settlement and so on.
Therefore, in this case, we proceed from the information, from the position that comes through this communication channel. That is, we leave Ukrainian and Moldovan experts room for maneuver. Let them say whatever they want, reality is different from their desires or fantasies,” Ignatiev said.
According to him, after February 2022, more than 200 thousand citizens of Ukraine entered the territory of Transnistria, although Ukraine closed all border checkpoints on February 25, 2022. About 40 thousand Ukrainians remained to live in the PMR.
Ignatiev especially noted that both Russian and Ukrainian TV channels are fully present in the information network of Pridnestrovian television broadcasting.
