Simferopol, December 22 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The DTEK Krymenergo company, part of the holding of the Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, may be nationalized. The Minister of Fuel and Energy of the Republic, Sergei Egorov, announced this at a press conference in Simferopol.

According to him, the validity of DTEK Krymenergo’s actions during the peninsula’s blackouts on December 19-20 is now being checked.

“Nationalization and forced purchase of Krymenergo are possible due to its strategic importance for the peninsula. Today the company has very weak organizational capabilities; the staff takes a formal approach to many issues. There is the responsibility of managers and the ability to make adequate decisions on the ground. Unfortunately, DTEK’s managers are not capable of making such decisions,” the minister noted.
