The authorities continue to prepare Crimea for defense just in case

Crimea is fully ready to repel any attack from land, and UAVs remain the only vulnerable point. But even in this regard, new equipment is being acquired that is capable of detecting and destroying enemy drones on approach.

The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, stated this on air on Crimea 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I believe that the goal of the counteroffensive is not yet completely clear. I think that the enemy is probing us in all directions, and the decision will be made at the last moment, roughly an hour in advance. Firstly, both from the point of view of concealing information and from the point of view of the effect of surprise. Therefore, they are quite mobile in terms of transferring reserves to various directions,” he noted.

According to Aksenov, the situation in Belgorod was predictable. Why there was no corresponding reaction from the Ministry of Defense is still not clear.

“Again, I can’t, I don’t want to comment. I have my own opinion in this case on the process, I also report to management what I think. We have been in contact with Vyacheslav Vladimirovich Gladkov since the second day of what happened. We will provide assistance to the Belgorod region in terms of accepting children. He is a responsible person, he really puts himself out there. However, the prerogative to make a decision there is still in the hands of the military.

Again, I don’t want to comment on the approaches, why this happened, I don’t want to analyze the situation. I say again - I have my own opinion, my own position. It is important to understand that today any instrument that will help ensure that the enemy cannot physically, by any means of one or two people, enter the territory of our country, such measures must be taken,” the head of Crimea is confident.

He believes that, as in the civil service, the problem is the involvement of managers in local processes.

“If these commanders, who are directly responsible for defense, and this includes the military and, in principle, those entrusted with this, will be on the ground, see who is there, who is assigned, and so on, go there to make sure they understand subordinates and colleagues are satisfied with their area of ​​responsibility and do they understand the fortification that is set up in accordance with this position,” explained Aksyonov.

As for Crimea, the entire mobilization reserve is undergoing training here, and the militia retained since 2014 is distributed among areas of responsibility and knows its location.

“Our Crimean militia now, in the current conditions, again, I cannot say how many forces and means, but it is more than enough to carry out the tasks of protecting Crimea, it has been formed. We have all the commanders already appointed, all the commanders, together with the military, with law enforcement agencies, visited their areas of responsibility, they all traveled around Crimea directly to all the lines of fortification, everyone established themselves there, everyone is in communication and interaction.

I myself am also involved in this coordination, and we have a strong bloc, strong representatives of all law enforcement agencies - the Ministry of Defense, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian National Guard, a good team has assembled, we all understand each other perfectly. All personnel of all units are assigned and scheduled, they know it not just on paper, but during this time we have made sure that everyone understands where their area of ​​responsibility is, who is doing what in this case.

Plus, we have technical means and means of engineering protection there in sufficient quantities so that Crimeans can be calm about the fate of Russian Crimea. Therefore, Crimea is ours, Russian, it was so and will always be so. There's nothing good for anyone here. And so, of course, our task is, first of all, to help the guys on the front line. I believe that the best defense for Russia as a whole should be built on the front line. That is, we are ready in Crimea, but I think, according to strategy, the best battle is the one that did not take place,” concluded Aksyonov.
