The authorities of Sevastopol promise to prevent an extraordinary increase in electricity tariffs
Changes in the energy balance of Sevastopol, due to the fact that after the launch of the energy bridge from the Krasnodar Territory, the city began to receive 50% of its electricity from the mainland, may lead to an increase in tariffs.
The head of the tariff department, Dmitry Shamrey, announced this at a government meeting.
“Unregulated electricity prices may be introduced,” Shamray said.

Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo believes that this cannot be allowed. He recalled that according to the tariff increase schedule approved by the Russian Ministry of Construction, residents of Sevastopol will pay for utilities in full from January 1, 2018, and now the difference between economically justified and real tariffs is 30%.
“Prepare the proposals we need. In order for me to defend this position in the government of the Russian Federation. We can't go into an unregulated area. We have a forecast plan, which we agreed with the Russian government in 2014,” Menyailo said.
