“Yesterday, at the request of the Ukrainian Embassy in Italy, samples of Crimean and Sevastopol wines were removed from the Russian stand at the wine exhibition in Verona. One gets the feeling that the neighbors have some special feelings for our wine. Maybe you're bored? I decided to send them a couple of boxes of the best Sevastopol wines from the recent harvest. I hope it will be enough to quench the sorrows and move on to civilized forms of cooperation in the field of winemaking and trade,” Ovsyanikov wrote.
In turn, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov called the situation with the arrest of Crimean wines rudeness and stupidity. According to Aksenov, the Crimean authorities will protect wine producers by all possible legal means. The producers themselves consider the incident to be a manifestation not so much of political interests as of competition.
