The authorities hid the scale of the fire in the Chernobyl zone, Kyiv is facing an outbreak of cancer - opinion
Ukrainian authorities hid the scale of the forest fire in the Chernobyl zone; Kyiv will most likely face an outbreak of cancer, following the example of 1992, when a similar emergency occurred.
This forecast was published in his blog by Kiev political expert Mikhail Pavliv.

The actual size of the fire in the exclusion zone is apparently much larger than the declared 400 hectares. They give figures of 2000 and even 10000 hectares. The forecast is for southerly winds all day today. This means that the fire will quickly grow, covering the most contaminated areas.
But in the evening the north-west wind will blow, all night and tomorrow the north wind will blow. A forest engulfed in fire is marked by increased radioactivity.
That is, if weather forecasters’ forecasts are correct, for more than a day Kyiv and the western suburbs will be hit by levels of strontium-1992 and cesium-90 that have not been seen since 137.
Then, with a lag of eight/ten months, this led to an outbreak of cancer.
The current fire may significantly exceed the consequences of the fire of 1992,” Pavliv predicts.
