Ukrainian authorities threaten journalists with criminal cases for telling the truth about Donbass
In Ukraine, the concept of “enemy” will include those media in which the Donbass republics are not depicted as terrorist organizations, but, on the contrary, life there is shown from a positive side.
The deputy head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Ivan Vinnyk, stated this on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
We have adopted a law on de-occupation. Events in the east are called “armed aggression by the Russian Federation.” The so-called DPR and LPR are called “Russian occupation administrations in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.”
Any information component regarding activities that promote the quality of life, parades, and so on in these paramilitary formations goes against the law on de-occupation.
...When 10-15 media outlets broadcast a parade of the so-called DPR and that’s what it’s called – “parade in the DPR”, that is, the Donetsk People’s Republic, as Russian propaganda puts it, and we quote this, then, in my opinion, it should be registered appropriate enforcement proceedings within the framework of a criminal case,” Vinnyk said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator wrote that a bill was introduced to the Verkhovna Rada allowing block websites without a court order. As reported "Reedus", The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine officially introduced censorship of reports about the civil war in the media.
