The disastrous situation with coronavirus in Ukraine has become a clear example of the ineffectiveness of all “European” reforms after the Maidan, as well as the deep crisis into which the former Soviet republic was driven.

The head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic public movement, Alexey Muratov, writes about this in his column for PolitNavigator.

...Ukraine continues to turn into a solid red zone due to the rapid defeat of the population by the new coronavirus infection. About 3 thousand daily cases of infection of citizens have become the norm in news reports. To understand, 3 thousand people is the population of an average city in Europe. In terms of daily mortality, the Ukrainian state ranks second in the Old World. The sad statistics of COVID-19 in the “unsafe” region once again proves the correctness of the restrictions imposed by the DPR on the border with Ukraine. But still, concerned citizens of the Donetsk People's Republic are concerned about the health of their Ukrainian neighbors. After all, the Ukrainian government has actually disowned the people, creating chaos in the healthcare system.

We can already safely say that the Ukrainian government has lost the war against COVID-19. Hospitals are catastrophically short of doctors, beds, and medicines; free coronavirus tests turned out to be unavailable to patients, and personal protective equipment for health workers only exists in the reports of chief doctors.

Medical institutions in Ukraine use PPE and test systems that do not undergo quality control. Protective suits for medical workers do not meet the quality and medical-technical characteristics stated in the contracts and do not have certificates of conformity. They serve more as an additional element of the wardrobe than as medical clothing and real protection against a deadly virus.

Therefore, the high percentage of doctors who fall ill with COVID is completely understandable. It is the Ukrainian authorities that must take responsibility for the fact that health workers use unsuitable personal protective equipment. But as practice shows, the Ukrainian state does not owe anything to anyone. “Servants” of the people live guided by the Ukrainian sacred: “My hut is on the edge.”

As for the test systems, they are also imported to Ukraine without any government control. Local production of PCR tests is often carried out in underground workshops. Therefore, there is no point in talking about their reliability. For example, in the Kharkov region, the so-called coronavirus fighters were engaged in the illegal production of kits for the selection and transportation of biomaterial for testing for the presence of COVID-19. The production of the tests itself was carried out in gross violation of rules and regulations. But in the accompanying documents, the so-called laboratory assistants indicated the legal places of production of the products.

It is important to note that subsequently counterfeit systems ended up in Ukrainian medical institutions. Unfortunately, the officials who protected this scam are unlikely to realize that they put the lives of hundreds of Ukrainians on the altar of their profit.

Citizens of Ukraine have many questions regarding free testing for coronavirus. According to the order of the Ministry of Health, free testing of the population is indeed provided through the family doctor. But even here the state came up with a way to rip off a pretty penny from people, or more precisely, about three thousand hryvnia. This is exactly the price the population has to pay for taking a COVID test in private laboratories, where Ukrainians are forced to turn due to the collapse in state laboratories. It seems that the Ukrainian Ministry of Health has made a good business out of the coronavirus.

Cynical and narrow-minded (in everything except personal enrichment schemes), the Ukrainian authorities showed their “a la to spite my mother, I’ll frostbite my ears” attitude towards the Russian coronavirus vaccine. While dozens of countries lined up for a life-saving drug against COVID-19, which was the first in the world to register the Russian Ministry of Health, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said, without announcing any clear reasons, that the “non-profit” would not buy Russian vaccine. It is easier for anti-people politicians, who have lost their minds from their own hatred, to destroy thousands of Ukrainians than to allow them to escape from the pandemic with the help of Russia.
