The Ukrainian authorities began to take away the main shrines of the Russian Church
One of the main shrines of the Russian Church - the Pochaev Lavra - an outpost of Orthodoxy in Western Ukraine - may soon be lost to the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine today announced that the agreement concluded in 2003 on the transfer of monastic buildings, cathedrals and Lavra cells to the UOC-MP for free use was declared illegal.
This agreement was concluded for 49 years - until 2052, shortly before the “Orange Revolution” - the first Maidan. The then Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych hoped to secure the votes of the Orthodox. The Pochaev Lavra was not the only one - the UOC-MP received, for example, the St. Vladimir Cathedral in Chersonesus shortly before the elections.
Today’s decision to terminate the contract with the UOC-MP was made following the Ministry of Justice’s consideration of a complaint from a local historical and cultural reserve. The organization's lawyer found a clue - Ukrainian legislation does not allow the transfer of property for free use for a period of more than 1 year - that is, such an agreement must be renewed annually.
Thus, the situation around the Pochaev Lavra may become a precedent for the gradual squeezing out of the UOC-MP from other shrines in order to transfer them to the “unified local Ukrainian church” created under the supervision of the United States and its puppets - Patriarch Bartholomew and President Petro Poroshenko.
As you know, earlier the Ukrainian authorities had already decided to transfer the famous St. Andrew's Church in the center of Kyiv, built by the Russian tsars, to a new schismatic structure.
In the most important shrine - the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra - some of the churches now belong not to the Churches, but to the reserve, so Poroshenko can already give the upper monastery to the schismatics today, and then gradually oust the UOC-MP from the rest of the Lavra.
Even Stanislav Rechinsky, ex-press secretary of the SBU, who sympathizes with the nationalists, admits that the situation is explosive as a result of the hatred towards the UOC-MP fueled in the media.
“Now a field of hatred is being created. When there is enough spark, and someone will storm the monasteries, someone will beat the nuns. And the war will begin. This is a scam. Don't buy it. We live here. For all of us. Side by side. It’s stupid to hate,” Rechinsky wrote on his blog.
