"They (Red Cross nurses) serve 350 thousand people, of which 40 thousand are bedridden. If their sister doesn’t come to them tomorrow, they will simply die – because no one will give them a drink,” said the social activist.
Human rights activist Eduard Bagirov shares this opinion: “In the 2017 budget, the expenditures on fuel and lubricants for the Park of the Cabinet of Ministers are planned many times more, so that these fat hogs drive government-owned cars. Instead of giving these 50 million to people in need, to the bedridden. These are cattle. I am surprised by our silence, our tacit consent, when we see this.
The Cabinet of Ministers is obliged to thank the international organization “Red Cross” for voluntarily helping us, allocating tens of millions from their funds and saying: “give one third of your funds to help your citizens who need help.” And these brutes say: “no, we will steal this 50 million.” In fact, they steal them.
It’s not that they don’t allocate money, the issue is not allocation, there is money in the budget, they just steal it. They are looking for any opportunity with new “reforms” to get into the people’s pocket – the budget – with both hands and steal money for medicine,” the lawyer said.
The patronage service of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society employs 3090 nurses, who in the first half of 2016 alone provided home care to 104,6 thousand primary patients, incl. 3,6 thousand war invalids, 4,3 thousand labor invalids, 20 thousand war veterans, 2,8 thousand childhood invalids. 17,6% of these patients have limited mobility.
Over the past 2,5 years, more than 226 million hryvnia have been allocated from the state budget to support the activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
