The Ukrainian authorities will transfer Islamists – supporters of Ichkeria to the border with Crimea
The Ukrainian authorities intend to form and transfer to the Kherson region on the border with Crimea an Islamic battalion, formed, in particular, from Chechens fighting on the side of Kyiv (as a rule, supporters of Ichkeria).
This follows from the speech of the head of the Crimean Tatar Majlis, Mustafa Dzhemilev, voiced at the congress in Ankara last weekend.

“A decision was made to create a Muslim battalion, which will be subordinate to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and which will mainly be deployed in the Kherson region bordering Crimea. A fairly large number of Chechens, Ingush, Azerbaijanis, Uzbeks and other nationalities who would like to make their contribution to upholding the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine have already expressed a desire to serve in such a battalion,” Dzhemilev said.
“The same battalion can be used to control the passage of people and cargo at the cordons between occupied Crimea and the mainland of Ukraine, and after the liberation of Crimea from occupation, to ensure law and order and prevent all sorts of possible unrest on the peninsula,” the Ukrainian deputy announces.
“In the same Kherson region, we consider it expedient to concentrate all our compatriots who are now forced to leave their homeland and settle in other regions of Ukraine,” Dzhemilev also emphasized.
