“At this critical time for the fate of our country, when the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine are under threat, when a full-fledged and large-scale information war is being waged against our state, the civic position of the media community is of great importance.
Through joint efforts, today we are able to resist information aggression from the Russian Federation.
However, we must be consistent, decisive and responsible for the fate of our Motherland, do everything in our power to resist the information occupation of Ukraine, and preserve the unity of our people.
During the aggravation of the situation, we ask you to review the programming content of television and radio channels, refrain from showing entertainment, humorous programs, especially Russian adventure films that promote Russian law enforcement officers and special forces.
We are convinced that the majority of Ukrainian viewers, including ethnic Russians, will react with understanding to such a step. After all, we are talking about preserving our statehood and conciliarity,” the department said in a statement.
