The Ukrainian authorities forgot about the victims of the Maidan - they will also forget about the disabled ATO
Maidan participants who became disabled still cannot obtain the status of a war invalid, although a bill providing for this was adopted back in February 2015. Pavel Sidorenko, coordinator of the Initiative Group of Maidan Victims, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.

Today there is only one law in force, thanks to which victims receive at least some kind of help - Cabinet Resolution No. 324 “On the social protection of persons who received serious bodily injuries during participation in mass civil protests that took place between November 21, 2013 and February 21, 2014 ", adopted in August 2014." It allows victims to receive one-time cash assistance, although, as Pavel Sidorenko noted, not all victims were able to take advantage of this opportunity - in almost a year since its adoption, only 87 people have been included in the lists to receive assistance, and three of those wounded on the Maidan have already died. The procedure for receiving money takes several months.
“We want to appeal to our brothers who are fighting in the ATO and tell them that the way the state today treats those who shed their blood and lost their health during the Revolution of Dignity shows what will happen to our guys, the heroes who are now fighting in the east of the country. Time will pass, there will be other problems, these guys will be forgotten. We must not allow this to happen. The state must remember its heroes, those who shed their blood for it. Those who walked under bullets with wooden shields, who were real heroes. Today they themselves are fighting for their health and existence,” said the Maidan activist.
