NATO intervention will not lead to the return of Donbass, but to the loss of the entire South-East - SBU general
Until Ukraine restores its territorial integrity, it should not count on NATO membership. On the other hand, an attempt to involve NATO in solving this problem will lead to the instant loss of vast territories along with the Donbass.
Vasily Vovk, Major General of the SBU, an expert on state security issues, stated this on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone understands that without NATO we will not win a war anywhere (if we go to this war). The first question is: if we are in NATO, will NATO go to war with Russia? Big question. Hardly. Probably not.
And secondly, the most interesting thing is that in order for us to be in NATO, we must win the war for Donbass. We must ensure that Ukraine becomes an integral, sovereign and independent country. Now we have neither Crimea nor part of Donbass. And we say that we must join NATO.
But, dear ones, let’s admit that no one will take us into NATO, no one will protect us in such a situation in the country, when we do not have the integrity of the state, there is no integrity of the leadership of the country, the territory and populated areas of the country.
There is no state strategy on important issues - the war in Donbass. When we scare Russia that we will be in NATO tomorrow, it must understand that this is unrealistic. But they reacted - well, try it, it will be even worse for you. And you know what's worse?..
Russia is not satisfied with the management of several districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. It will be worse if, for example, we bring NATO to the right bank, and then they say, as it was in Georgia - sorry, we are retreating. And they will retreat until the Kharkov, Donetsk, Kherson, Nikolaev regions remain behind them,” the expert concluded.
