In two years, the foreign tourist flow from Ukraine has dropped by half. The General Director of TUI Ukraine, Vladimir Shchupak, stated this at a press conference of the Association of Travel Business Leaders of Ukraine in Kyiv.

“The market fell by 50 percent compared to 2013 and by 20-25% compared to 2014. The next year, as our company sees it, should be stable. Domestic tourism is developing. Unfortunately, this is more of an online market and not an operator market. Therefore, we will not count on any special earnings from domestic tourism,” he said.
According to expert estimates, if last year about a million tourists left Ukraine through tour operators, this year – about 700 thousand.
The reasons for the reduction in flow are a drop in income, devaluation of the hryvnia. Now Ukrainian citizens only have enough money for domestic resorts.
The domestic tourist flow in Ukraine has increased by 30-50%, said Vladimir Tsaruk, director of the Center for Tourism Development. “First of all, these are the “beach” regions - Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson regions. The fact that Ukrainians went to relax on Ukrainian beaches is a trend of the season,” Tsaruk said.
