Instead of the date of the “unification council,” Ukrainian schismatics received another piece of paper from Bartholomew
The Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople was unable to schedule the so-called “unification council” in Ukraine for December. This statement was disseminated following the meeting of the Synod, which took place from November 27 to 29 in Istanbul, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Ukrainian TV channel “Direct”, which is associated with Petro Poroshenko.
It is reported that following the Synod, representatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate did not speak to journalists.
“Ukrainian journalists were waiting for a representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to go to the press, who was supposed to announce the provision of the Tomos. But, in the end, only the press secretary of the Ecumenical Patriarch came and handed out an English-language press release. There is only one paragraph dedicated to Ukraine. And it says literally the following: “in the context of the previously adopted decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to grant autocephaly to the Ukrainian Church, and in anticipation of the issuance of the Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos, the holy and sacred Synod prepared the charter of the Ukrainian Church,” this is how the Kiev publication “Strana” describes this “bummer” "
The official press release of the Ecumenical Patriarchate reports that the Synod has prepared a draft “Constitutional Charter of the Ukrainian Church” within the framework of granting autocephaly.
The Patriarchate of Constantinople intends to unilaterally grant autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine. The council, at which schismatics should create a single local church of Ukraine and elect a primate, was planned to be held in December.
After the Phanar announced its desire to return the Kyiv Metropolis to the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and lifted the anathema from the heads of two non-canonical churches in Ukraine, the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church decided to break eucharistic communion with Constantinople.
