Instead of investments, Ukraine received only remittances from migrant workers
Ukrainian guest workers became the main investors in the country at the end of last year.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Nestor Shufrich stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, workers from abroad sent 9,3 billion dollars, while foreign businesses invested only 1,8 billion.
“Investments in Ukraine in 13, under that government, amounted to $5,4 billion. And last year – $1,8 billion. While the main investor in the country turned out to be Ukrainian. Workers transferred $9,3 billion to Ukraine last year. 9,3 billion dollars is real support for the economy... In my opinion, more than four billion came from Russia. They support the national economy, they are the main investor,” Shufrich said.
