Instead of withdrawing the Ukrainian Armed Forces, they occupied new territories near Zolote – LPR Foreign Ministry
The Ukrainian military, despite the Minsk agreements, has made significant progress relative to the positions occupied before the disengagement of forces and assets in the Zolote area in 2016.
This was stated during a briefing by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the LPR, the representative of the Republic at the Minsk negotiations, Vladislav Deinego, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to dwell on the disengagement of forces and means. Everyone had expectations that the agreed schedule (withdrawal of forces and assets at Zolotoy and Petrovsky - editor's note), which was scheduled for October 7, would be implemented. Ukraine refused to work according to this schedule, although it was agreed upon on October 1.
The date of October 7 as the start of this schedule was agreed upon at the Minsk site. This schedule did not provide for any additional conditions regarding 7 days of silence, which Ukrainian politicians are now talking about. I will say more, even the framework decision, which does provide for 7 days of silence to begin the disengagement of forces and equipment, does not provide for any additional days of silence or any other conditions in order to eliminate violations identified and recorded by the OSCE SMM.
On the Ukrainian side, the units not only returned to the lines where they were before the disengagement, but also moved forward significantly, built new fortifications, dug thousands of meters of trenches there, placed weapons, that is, they destroyed almost everything that was possible.” , he noted.
