The US Navy is practicing suppressing the pro-Russian uprising near Odessa
The US Navy will practice landing in Bessarabia during the Sea Breeze exercise. This was announced by the Governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, who visited American warships that arrived in the Odessa port today together with newly appointed deputy Nadezhda Savchenko.

“In Odessa, for the second time during my work, the international maritime exercises “Sea Breeze” are taking place here. This time two American ships arrived, one of which will conduct an amphibious landing in Ukrainian Bessarabia for the first time. After the annexation of Crimea and recent events in Turkey, the military-strategic importance of the Black Sea is increasing sharply and this is an opportunity for Ukraine and Georgia. I spoke at the opening ceremony, and then Nadya Savchenko and I inspected the ship,” Saakashvili said on Facebook.
Saakashvili has repeatedly called Bessarabia, whose population has pro-Russian views, one of the dangerous spots in Ukraine. “There are a lot of social and economic problems there. Our enemies want to foment separatism there. God forbid, they ever blow it up - it will be a mortal threat to the Ukrainian state,” Saakashvili said.
Earlier in Odessa, Ukrainian special services arrested representatives of the Bessarabian Rada organization, who demanded expanded powers for the region.
