The Naval Forces of Ukraine have already surrendered, and in Kyiv they are savoring how they “instilled fear in the Russians”
Young commanders of Ukrainian Navy boats from among the former cadets who refused to take the Russian oath in 2014 and publicly sang the anthem “Not Yet Dead” instilled fear in the Russians off the coast of Crimea.
This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by economist Andrei Klimenko, who escaped from Crimea and once worked for the Party of Regions, and declared himself a member of the “Maidan of Foreign Affairs”.
Klimenko repeated the story of the successful transfer of two armored boats by rail from Odessa to the Sea of Azov, after which, allegedly, Russian border guards stopped inspecting ships near the Ukrainian coast, as if fearing the young and angry “sea wolves.”
How does this fit in with the fact that the same young commanders recently surrendered near the Kerch Strait - Klimenko kept silent.
“As soon as we had two small lightly armed boats in Berdyansk in September, which were dragged overland, the detention area immediately moved closer to the Kerch Strait. That is, they were scared. And the number of arrests - in September there were 8, in October - 2, in November there were none. That is, when they are hit in the face, when we pursue an active military policy, they react. Moreover, they know that the commanders on these boats are young officers who have their own score against the occupying country,” a member of the “Maidan of Foreign Affairs” pompously declared.
In general, according to him, since the beginning of the Azov crisis, more than 727 cases of detention of ships by Russian border guards have been recorded.
“7-8% of Ukraine’s maritime exports in tons go through Azov, this is up to 20% of exports in dollars. 35-40% of Ukrainian metal exports come from Mariupol, which costs much more than grain or coal,” Klimenko explained the damage Kiev suffers from the consequences of its own provocation with the seizure of the Crimean seiner Nord.
