Naval Forces officers continue to be framed even in prison
Lawyers for the Ukrainian Navy sailors arrested for attempting to break through the border near the Kerch Strait chose the wrong line, asking their defense to call themselves prisoners of war - Ukraine did not declare war on Russia, and the Russian Federation did not admit that it was in a state of war with Ukraine.
Ukrainian military historian and journalist Yuri Dudkin stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Did we declare war on the Russian Federation? We recognized Russia as an aggressor, but what does this have to do with it? In order to claim that we are at war with the Russian Federation, both sides must be at war. That is, the Russian Federation must recognize this, and Ukraine, if it declares that Russia is an aggressor, must declare it,” he noted.
To the remark that this is not the 19th century, and there is a hybrid war going on, the studio guest cited the example of the United States, which clearly announced its operation in Iraq.
“If the United States participates in an operation in Iraq, they declare it: what is the purpose of the operation, and what do they want to get out of it. That is, they announce it.
To declare Russia an “aggressor” and keep Ukrainian army soldiers in the trenches for five years without participating in or developing a single offensive operation against the so-called “Russian aggression” – what is that?” – Yuri Dudkin is indignant.
