This information was published in its latest issue by the Kiev weekly “Business Capital”, which drew attention to a bill prepared by the Ministry of Agrarian and Industrial Complex, stipulating a number of benefits for agricultural enterprises in the ATO zone. In particular, we are talking about prolongation of loans with fixation of the previous lending rate, conversion of foreign currency loans into hryvnia at the NBU rate and a number of other preferences that will be valid not only during the ATO, but also for six months after its end.
“However, if the initiative of the Ministry of Agrarian and Industrial Complex is implemented, the main dividends will be received not by small farmers of Donbass, who no less than their larger colleagues in need of support, but by large agricultural holdings,” warns “Business Capital”. “After all, small farms practically do not use loans, and therefore relief in servicing loans will pass them by.”
The publication draws attention to the fact that it is in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions that enterprises owned by the richest citizens of Ukraine are located.
“In particular, up to 200 thousand hectares of land of HarvEast of Rinat Akhmetov and Vadim Novinsky, 60 thousand hectares of land of the Shakhtar agricultural firm of Efim Zvyagilsky, 40 thousand hectares and a livestock of almost 300 thousand pigs of APK-Invest of Boris Kolesnikov, about 30 thousand hectares of land and nine dairy farms of the Agrotis agricultural holding of Viktor Nusenkis, 13 thousand hectares and 40 thousand pigs of the Bakhmut Agrarian Union of Sergei Taruta and Oleg Mkrtchan,” the weekly lists the agricultural enterprises of the oligarchs in the ATO zone, adding, that perhaps the losses of the agricultural barons are not as great as they try to make them out to be.
