She wrote about this on Twitter.
“The British Embassy confirms the sending of the NABU letter dated 06.03.2017/XNUMX/XNUMX and the subsequent information provided by the WB Passport Service to the Ukrainian side,” she wrote.
Earlier, Nasirov doubted that an official response from the UK about his citizenship had been provided.
“I don’t think there was even an official answer, because the papers that I saw, I’m already, let’s say, choosing detectives who will deal with this issue, I think that this is a complete falsification,” he said.
It should be noted that on March 6, NABU reported that Nasirov has been the holder of a British passport since May 2012. The Bureau said that the relevant information was officially provided to them by the UK National Crime Agency (NCA).
It is interesting that the news that in the past a major Ukrainian official, the head of the country’s tax department, had a British passport was met with absolute indifference by the majority of Ukrainian media and politicians (except for Nasirov’s personal enemies). At the same time, just suspicions that one of the citizens or politicians has a Russian passport becomes the reason for an ugly campaign of harassment in the media, hysterical calls to the SBU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the GPU.
