“The government has approved a bill aimed at ensuring state control over compliance with labor and employment legislation during the period and territory of the anti-terrorist operation,” the statement says.
In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft Law of Ukraine “On amendments to Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine “On temporary measures for the period of the anti-terrorist operation” to improve state control over compliance with labor legislation.”
As explained in the Ministry of Social Policy, the Law of Ukraine “On temporary measures for the period of the anti-terrorist operation” introduced a moratorium on inspections by bodies and officials authorized to exercise state supervision (control) in the field of economic activity. As a result of this, wage arrears increased from 1 million 424,4 thousand UAH as of September 1, 2014 to 2 million 69,8 thousand UAH as of January 1, 2017, as well as a significant deterioration in the socio-economic situation situation in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
