Sudden confession of a Kyiv newspaper: the West may partition Ukraine
Kyiv, July 30 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Ukraine should rely only on its own strengths; the West may go for the division of the Ukrainian state, since it classifies the former Soviet republic as a failed state.

“From the perspective of the relatively prosperous West, Ukraine is a problematic country, an almost failed state. I would like to be mistaken, but the rhetoric of those same Germany and France suggests that we are a headache for the “golden billion”. Yes, cautious diplomats do not say this out loud, but 40 million people in the center of Europe who have not created a successful society in twenty-three years are more of a problem than a reason for sympathy. And it is better to solve this problem yourself than to rely on external help. This “help” can also come in the form of a “final solution to the issue” of Ukrainian statehood. After all, the West has already shown that the agreements concluded with it are practically worthless - remember the sad fate of the Budapest Memorandum,” the publication says.
The publication recalls that in 1991, US President George W. Bush opposed the separation of the republics from the USSR.
“The forty-first US President expressed the position of the West, which wanted the weakening of the Soviet empire, but not at all its disintegration into fifteen unpredictable entities. Has much changed since then? Let’s face it: in the same States there are enough politicians (and voters) who believe that it would be easier to deal with one, albeit hostile, superpower,” the authors of the material note.
