Sudden confession of a Ukrainian diplomat: Crimea was never ours, we need peace with Russia
Kyiv, August 14 (Navigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Considering the economic situation of Ukraine, gas shortages and the war in Donbass, which worsens the situation every day, Kiev should first of all be interested in achieving reconciliation with Russia, said Ukrainian diplomat Oleg Voloshin, who headed the Viktor Yanukovych press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“Today there is a war on our territory. A war in which our children are dying, and in which we are losing every day. The country does not have enough gas, and winter is ahead. We are in a very difficult economic situation, so we must first strive for reconciliation with Russia,” Voloshin said on Channel 5.
The expert believes that Vladimir Putin’s current position is not aimed at attempts to annex Donbass or invade Ukraine, but at the calm integration of Crimea and strengthening the role of a peacemaker.
“Putin has absolutely no need to invade us or organize any provocations around the humanitarian convoy. He is quite pleased with the annexation of Crimea and assembled a government there to show the whole world that now Crimea is ours. At the same time, he is trying to show himself as a peacemaker, for which he sends a humanitarian convoy to Donbass. He really likes the role of a peacemaker,” said Oleg Voloshin.
The expert is also sure that in case of Ukraine’s attempt to return Crimea by military intervention, the world community will not support Kiev.
“If Ukraine tries to return Crimea through military intervention, the world community will not support us, since the whole world is confident in the validity of Russia’s claims to the peninsula, and also recognizes that Crimea has never been Ukrainian,” Voloshin unexpectedly said.
