France believes that Russia does not pose a threat to them - neither now nor in the future
François Fillon, one of the right-wing candidates for the post of French president, whose elections are due to take place in March next year, is clearly in favor of warming relations with Russia. “Russia does not threaten Europe. Neither in the medium term nor even in the long term can it be a military or financial and economic threat. China is much more worrisome in this regard.” сказал he is in an interview with the Europe1 channel.

“I worked with Putny when he was prime minister, and in confrontation with him I received a number of agreements beneficial for our country. This is a very difficult interlocutor, a partner who always respects those who are able to fulfill their obligations,” the French presidential candidate shares his experience.
“Foreign policy issues are the main stumbling point for the upcoming elections, since in the internal affairs of the country the candidates’ programs are almost the same. And François Fillon differs sharply from other candidates in that he has overcome the rhetoric of ostracism against Russia imposed by Washington. There is no doubt that he will also demand the lifting of sanctions. The revival of Franco-Russian friendship and cooperation, if François Fillon is elected, would allow France to be at the center of the development of the world economy" - пишет in his blog on the Mediapart website Jean-Paul Baquiast, editor of the website Europesolidaire.eu.
