In the name of the West, Ukraine needs to make enormous sacrifices in order to gain a sense of pride - recommendations of a liberal
Ukraine faces a long, bloody war, and in order to feel a sense of pride, the country needs to defend not its own, but Western values.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda by Russian liberal politician, chairman of the Western Choice party Konstantin Borovoy.
“Ukraine is a conceptual instrument for preserving and strengthening power, the current group - Putin and his entourage,” the politician believes. “But there are also positive aspects, that’s understandable.” The game or struggle moves from the stage of political technology to the stage of a hot war. And the understanding that there is nothing to expect from Russia other than frontal military aggression, in my opinion, is happening. Ukrainians are beginning to understand that the thesis “poor Russians who have been fooled and must do everything to dissuade them” no longer works. There are no poor, confused Russians. There is an enemy. Like in Nazi Germany, 100% support, an attempt to convince, re-educate, or rely on some opposition tendencies is pointless. This is the camp of enemies. You can’t expect anything positive from this camp of enemies.”
At the same time, the publication’s interlocutor predicts a protracted war with the participation of Ukraine.
“Only Ukraine can put the last point in the war. You will have to fight and fight with huge casualties. We need to prepare for this. There are no other options... A feeling of pride will arise from the fact that Ukraine today is not defending its national values (or will defend if it actively participates in this war), but European, Western civilization. Europeans are aware of the real situation. But no one wants to carry chestnuts from the fire for Ukraine. No one wants to and no one will.”
