In Lvov, Bandera’s supporters called for reminding the Hungarians about Soviet tanks
Hungary is expanding its influence in Transcarpathia through the media and culture, hatching insidious “plans for the occupation of Ukrainian land.”
Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation, ex-deputy, nationalist Anna Gopko said this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Hybrid attacks occur from Russia, and we see examples of such hybrid attacks from other states. It is obvious that Ukraine is interested in a policy of good neighborliness with Hungary, Poland and our other neighbors, but we must clearly understand that the Hungarians want to strengthen their influence in Transcarpathia.
Some officials published books about great Hungary in the Hungarian language in Ukraine. We clearly understand that many want to occupy Ukrainian land. The Russians are trying to do this in the East of Ukraine near the Sea of Azov, and someone wants to do this in Transcarpathia, they are increasing information influence, funding the media and have some projects with the Moscow Patriarchate,” Gopko said.
She emphasized that Hungary is an energy-dependent country on Russia and many attacks against Ukraine by Budapest were carried out on the initiative of the Kremlin.
“We must clearly understand that Hungary is energy dependent on Russia. Many statements against Ukraine were made after telephone calls, even before the pandemic and bilateral visits between Russia and Hungary. We need to remind the Hungarians about Soviet tanks on their territory,” the former deputy concluded.
