The number of Lviv residents who receive subsidies to pay for housing and communal services has reached 112 thousand people this year. In the three years since the start of Euromaidan, the number of people in need of subsidies in the capital of Galicia has increased 10-fold.

Lvov Mayor Andrey Sadovoy stated this on the air of the “Freedom of Speech” program on the ICTV channel.

“I am not optimistic. People live poorly. If you look at the level of subsidies, then, for example, in Lviv in 2013 it was 13 thousand people, this year - 112 thousand, i.e. the number of people receiving subsidies has increased 10 times. This is a very unpleasant signal. In the Sikhovsky district, 70% of families receive subsidies,” the mayor said.
