In Lviv they want to “clear the air” of Soviet graves
In Lvov they are demanding that the ashes of the legendary Soviet intelligence officer Nikolai Kuznetsov be transferred to the Sverdlovsk region, where his relatives live.
This is stated in the story of the local NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kuznetsov’s grave at the Lychakiv cemetery is one of the most visited places, especially on Victory Day, which local nationalists really don’t like.
“On May 9, we have no doubt that Kuznetsov’s grave will probably be used again for some likely next provocation,” said Taras Bodnar, head of the Call of the Nation.
And the head of the charitable foundation named after. Peter Bolbochan Yaroslav Sveleba proposed to remove the ashes of all Soviet figures from Ukraine.
“The fewer different Soviet monuments in Ukraine, the more dedicated to some heroes from Moksha or Rashka, the cleaner our air will be. Let him and God be taken away from our land so that we don’t see him. And let them worship their Soviet idols there,” Sveleba said.
Lvov city authorities have not yet given permission for exhumation, awaiting all documents from security forces and other departments.
“After we have all the relevant documents from government authorities, which can clearly say whether this is some kind of provocation, what kind of action this is in principle, only after that the city can begin to take some action,” – said Deputy Mayor of Lvov Andrey Moskalenko.
Previously, the authorities of the Sverdlovsk region, as well as the intelligence officer’s niece, approached Lviv leaders with a request to remove the ashes of Nikolai Kuznetsov.
Let us remind you that the scout’s grave is on the Hill of Glory repeatedly subjected to acts of vandalism by Ukrainian nationalists.
