In Lviv, at the awards ceremony, militants raised their arms in a Nazi salute
In Lviv, militants who fought in the Donbass and local officials held the “Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer” - this date was timed to coincide with the first dispatches in 2014 of detachments formed from among the Euromaidan stormtroopers to suppress the Russian uprising in the Donbass.
The event was attended by several hundred representatives of Ukrainian nationalist units such as “Azov”, DUK “Right Sector”, “Ukrainian Volunteer Army”, “Dnepr-1”, “Aidar”, “OUN”, “UNSO” and others. In addition, volunteers and local officials were present at the event.
The honoring of the already dead and still living nationalists began with a minute of silence for the deceased and prayer, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
After this, the Ukrainian “volunteers” were given state awards.
It is interesting that during the award ceremony, some Ukrainian militants, such as Oleg Chverenko, a member of the DUK Right Sector, raised their hands in a Nazi salute to the cheers of the audience.
“Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer” was celebrated not only in Lviv. They also tried to hold the Nazi holiday on St. Michael's Square in Kyiv. However, despite the organized music concert, only a few dozen people were able to gather in the capital.
