In Lviv they declared themselves “the last stronghold of Ukrainianness in a completely distraught country”
Lviv is a model of Ukrainianness by which the country's independence is measured. If this city “falls”, then the “Ukraine” project can be closed forever.
Lvov TV presenter Ostap Drozdov stated this on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For me, the fight for Lviv is not only a fight for the Lviv City Hall. I would pose the question differently. The fight for Lviv is a fight for Ukraine. Because Lvov is used to judge whether this last Ukrainian city has fallen as in fact the last stronghold of Ukrainianness in a completely distraught country. They really look at us - by the way we behave. Therefore, this is not just an election for Market Square, this is an election for Ukraine’s dream, in the person of Lvov, to see a progressive city, and not a city with its own Yanukovych,” Drozdov said.
