As ZAXID.NET reports, the verdict states that on December 23, 2014, while on the territory of the Krakow market, the man sold five dollars for 90 hryvnia. The police officers who witnessed the sale and purchase filed a report.
At the court hearing, the man fully admitted the fact of committing the offense and asked not to impose a strict penalty.
Such actions, according to Ukrainian legislation, are qualified as administrative offenses and are punishable by a fine of 510 to 748 hryvnia or a warning. Therefore, the Galitsky District Court of Lvov fined the man 510 hryvnia. In addition, the man was charged 36 hryvnia in court fees.
We note that in accordance with Art. 162 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of rules on foreign exchange transactions) not only those who buy currency are held accountable, but also those who sell it. Moreover, for those who buy currency with violations, in accordance with the law, it will be confiscated to the state.
Thus, since the beginning of the year, more than 30 people have been punished in the Lviv region for buying and selling currency on the “black” market. Court verdicts mainly involve amounts from 5 to 20 dollars or similar small amounts in Polish zlotys.
