The date of the separatist provocation was celebrated in Lvov
Lviv leadership celebrated the 29th anniversary of the raising of the blue and yellow flag over the city hall.
This was reported by the Independent Television Agency TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The event was dedicated to the decision made on April 3, 1990 at a session of the Lviv City Council by deputies of the so-called first democratic convocation chaired by Bohdan Kotik.
“You have accomplished a feat, you have done an act that is forever inscribed in the history of our city and the history of Ukraine. I had the honor of working under different cadences, both as a deputy and as a mayor, and worked in different atmospheres. You, in fact, represent a special environment of people,” the mayor of the city Andrei Sadovoy addressed the deputies who made this decision.
The mayor also presented the separatists who advocated secession from the USSR with certificates of honor, after which a ceremonial removal of the blue-yellow flag took place to raise it above the town hall building.
Let us note that in 1990 the Ukrainian SSR continued to exist, and there was still a year and a half left before the declaration of independence of Ukraine.
