These figures are provided by the tourism department of the Lviv City Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Mostly Ukrainians, Poles and Belarusians come to Lviv. People also travel to Lviv from Turkey, Germany, the USA, Lithuania, Great Britain, the Czech Republic and Canada.
“To analyze the incoming tourist market, we use three sources of information collection: a face-to-face survey of city guests, statistics of visitors to tourist information centers and data from the Lviv Tourist Barometer, which is provided with information by accommodation establishments,” said Galina Malets, head of the tourism department of the Lviv City Council.
On average, one tourist spends about €75 per day, and the average length of stay is 4,4 days.
She also added that during the first two weeks of 2018, about 250 thousand tourists came to Lviv.
“We haven’t done a thorough analysis, but based on the data we received from hotels and statistics from tourist information centers, we can estimate a figure of a quarter of a million,” Malets said.
