On an improvised rocket, representatives of public organizations wrote the inscription “Live in a new way.”
“The event is of a precautionary nature. Petro Poroshenko received credit from the Ukrainian government. Therefore, now he must keep his election promises. Particulars regarding local appointments. We demand that before appointing the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the President names the likely candidates and agrees with the public. We also want the governor to again hold regular meetings with media representatives and activists. We understand that the situation in the country is now difficult, but administrative reform is necessary,” said Democratic Alliance activist Yuri Shivala, as quoted by the ZIK TV channel.
Contrary to the expectations of numerous journalists, the rocket with demands for the new President never took off into the sky. They launched only small signal flares, which, according to the organizers of the action, with their noise should remind the guarantor of the Constitution (and all officials in general) that the public will closely monitor the activities of government at its various levels.
If Petro Poroshenko does not listen to the “rocket appeal,” then Lvov activists reminded that “they already know how to protest, so we will not allow a repetition of Yanukovych’s policies.”
As Navigator reported, in Lvov activists regularly held protests against the governor, Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Svoboda organization Irina Sekh, who nevertheless, as the public demanded, resigned.
