In Lviv, the final decision was made to demolish the “Monument of Glory”
Lviv city authorities are going to dismantle the stele of the “Monument of the Military Glory of the Soviet Armed Forces” under the pretext of its “emergency condition.”
Deputy Mayor of Lvov for Development Andrey Moskalenko spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“During the meeting of the working group, a protocol decision was made to inspect all elements of this structure. During the examination, it was found that the stele was in disrepair. In a few months there will be a technical conclusion on how this stele should be dismantled. Its phased dismantling is envisaged. The conclusion should give us an understanding of how dismantling will be carried out. This is not a simple structure that you can come and pick up with a crane,” the official said.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that the militants of the Right Sector, OUN and the near-Svoboda “Falcon” damaged the monument, breaking the slabs and tearing off the memorial inscription “To the Victors over Nazism”.
Also, neo-Nazis, after a court hearing at which the prospect of dismantling the “Monument of Glory” in Lviv was decided, they doused local activist and monument defender Inna Ivanochko with green paint.
